The investigation into offences allegedly committed by police officers concerning Detective Chief Inspector of the Helsinki Police Department Jari Aarnio is ongoing. There is still reason to suspect irregularities in the activities between Jari Aarnio and the private company involved. The suspected offences are aggravated giving of a bribe, aggravated acceptance of a bribe and aggravated abuse of public office.

New arrests were made in the case yesterday and today. The arrested persons do not include personnel of police forces. As to the Helsinki Police Department, Detective Chief Inspector Jari Aarnio is the only suspect. Further searches of premises are being conducted.

The next press release will be issued this Friday afternoon. No information will be released before that.
