Press release

We are going to discontinue the email list, as you will be able to subscribe directly to the press releases via our website. Whenever we publish a press release on our website, you will automatically receive a notification in your inbox. We will stop sending emails on 12 January 2025.

You can subscribe to the press releases at https://syyttajalaitos.fi/tiedotteiden-ja-ratkaisuselosteiden-tilaus

  1. If you only want to receive press releases in your inbox, select "Press releases" (Tiedote) to subscribe.
  2. If you also want appeal rulings, also select “News” (Uutinen).
  3. Next, select a subject area. Select both or either press releases or appeal rulings (news).

Finally, select your language. We publish all press releases in Finnish and Swedish. Unfortunately, there can sometimes be a slight delay with the Swedish translation, so it is a good idea for Swedish speakers to order the information sheets in Finnish as well, just to be on the safe side. We publish press releases in English only rarely, usually when the subject is of international interest or deals with international crimes.

Chief investigators of the Police Misconduct Unit may issue press releases by email outside office hours. Representatives of the media do not need to register separately for the mailing list for criminal matters involving the police. The National Prosecution Authority Communications will forward the list of subscribers to the online service of the Police Misconduct Unit.
