Charges have been brought in the Vastaamo case

The prosecutor has brought charges against the suspect for aggravated computer break-in, attempted aggravated extortion, 9,598 counts of aggravated dissemination of information violating personal privacy, 21,316 counts of attempted aggravated extortion and 20 counts of aggravated extortion. The aggravated computer break-in was carried out 25–26 November 2018 and the other offences in September–October 2020.

The suspect is held on remand and has denied being guilty of the offences.

The application for a summons was submitted to the District Court of Länsi-Uusimaa on 18 October 2023.

The District Court will provide information on the arrangement of the main hearing on its own website.

District Prosecutor Pasi Vainio (029 562 3906) of the Prosecution District of Western Finland, District Prosecutor Bo-Niklas Lundqvist (029 562 2312) of the Prosecution District of Southern Finland and District Prosecutor Harri Mäkelä (029 562 7720) of the Prosecution District of Eastern Finland act as prosecutors in the case.
